Counseling & Psychotherapy - I have worked successfully
with clients of all ages and walks of life in learning to cope
with and heal from: depression, anxiety, traumatic stress and
abuse, attention-deficits, impulsivity and addiction, relationship
conflicts, parent-child difficulties, attachment
issues, grief and loss,
mood swings, borderline and bipolar disorders, and self-harm
in teens and young adults.

Couples & Relationship
Counseling -
I support couples in working through a broad range of crisis
and intimacy issues, including emotional dysregulation and
withdrawal patterns, anger and control issues, and
communication "language" differences. My style
is solution-focused, strength-based, collaborative and interactive.
Family
DBT Skills Training & Therapy -
I utilize DBT and family systems approaches to improve structural dynamics
and balance of power, reduce chaos, hopelessness and hurt and
increase mindfulness, trust, respect, fairness, and appreciation for each member's experience and role within the family community.
Positive Parenting
Skills and Strategies - I have years of experience coaching
and supporting parents on how to use more effective and satisfying
techniques and strategies to increase positive behavior and
success in their children's lives.
Methods and Approaches
Depending on the individual needs
of my client, I draw from a variety of clinical and therapeutic
approaches including: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral
Therapy (CBT), Expressive Art & Play
Therapy, Gestalt, Psychodynamics and Family Systems Therapy.
Treatment Philosophy
It
is my goal to encourage people to become more accepting
and aware of their unique strengths as well as their
limitations, and to assist clients in taking greater pride
and ownership of the power and responsibility they possess
to direct and alter the course of their own thoughts, feelings
and actions in life.
