ABOUT THE NAME "EXPRESSIVE HEARTS"

What I have found is that many of us become so driven by external demands and expectations in life that we lose sight of our most meaningful connection of all: to our hearts (soul, spirit, wisdom, center). In my work, one of the questions people seem to struggle with the most is: "What do I want or need to feel truly happy and satisfied in life?

Although I believe "reason" to be a powerful and important element of our happiness and success, when we stop listening to our hearts we become lost. Much of my work is about encouraging people to deepen self awareness, acceptance and compassion within and to assist individuals in achieving a greater balance between "mind, body and heart" when meeting the possibilities and challenges of every day life.

ABOUT JANE TILLMAN, LMHC, MFT

I am deeply committed to supporting and encouraging people of all ages and walks of life in their process of healing from: depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma and stress, attention-deficits, impulsivity, addiction, mood swings, relationship conflicts, parent-child issues, adoption and attachment issues, physical and sexual abuse issues, and self-harming behavior in teens and young adults.

I have over twelve years of experience providing counseling and family therapy for children, adolescents and adults in mental health agencies and private practice settings. My style is warm, empathetic, dialectic, solution-focused and direct. I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Family Systems, Psychodynamic and Jungian Art and Play Therapy.
